Today I’m going to show you four things you can do to scale up your life. These are things that I have learned over the years, which have had a profound effect in my own life and I know they have the power to shift your life in a positive direction too.
#1 Turn Inward
“As we journey inward we reflect our light outward.” – Baron Baptiste
A lot of people try to improve how they feel about their life by focusing outward. Not outward towards other people, but rather outward reaching for something they can hold in order to feel more valuable themselves.
These people go to the mall on the weekend and buy new stuff they believe will add value to their life. They are constantly seeking the approval of others in order to be validated and if they don’t get it, they spiral downwards.
It’s nothing to be ashamed of, but something to be aware of in order to make the changes necessary to achieve the life you truly desire.
I have been doing the opposite for years and it has radically transformed my life in more ways than one.
What if every single day revolved around you going inward instead?
What if you started taking time for yourself to figure out who you really are? What sets YOUR heart on fire? What do you really want to do with your life?
When was the last time you spent some time alone thinking about that stuff? Or more importantly, taking action to make those things a reality!
It is time to stop listening to the outside world and who they’re telling you to be. Everything you need to know about yourself and who you’re meant to become is already inside you, you just have to take the time to look.
The more you grow inside, the more beautiful and the more magnetic you will become.
As you add value to the inside world, your outside world will also begin to change. You will start to have opportunities you wouldn’t have dreamed of before.
#2 Change Your Thinking
“The ancestor of every action is a thought.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
What we think about the most becomes who we are. In order to manifest your deepest desires and dreams, you must turn your thoughts into words and then into action.
The subconscious mind will believe what you tell it consistently.
Quiet your inner critic. Start that more positive self talk
Develop positive affirmations to help you rewire your brain and stop thinking in negative circles.. Pay attention to how you talk to yourself in your head throughout the day.
Do your thoughts build you up or tear you down?
Encourage you or discourage you?
Empower you or make you feel weak?
The power of your thoughts, especially about yourself, are immeasurable.
Think about this: what is the most beautiful car you’ve ever seen? Maybe the latest Porsche 911. Or the Cadillac ELR. Or a Ferrari 458 Italia. These cars didn’t just pop out of thin air. They started off as an idea, as a thought in somebody’s mind. Eventually these thoughts led to the creation of the most beautiful machinery on the planet.
If thoughts are powerful enough to move into the physical realm and become something as magnificent as a Ferrari, how powerful are your thoughts about yourself?
Maybe you don’t believe you’re a champion.
Maybe you don’t believe you have what it takes an amazing husband or wife or entrepreneur or fitness guru or mom or dad or whatever. Even if you don’t believe it, you have to start telling yourself that you are good enough to be those things – because trust me, you are!
Eventually, your identity will shift.
If you are interested in learning more about this topic, I would highly suggest reading the book Psycho Cybernetics. It is AMAZING and it changed my thought patterns and in turn, it changed my life.
#3 Get Clear On Who You Want In Your Life
“People inspire you, or they drain you – pick them wisely.” – Hans F Hansen
It’s said that we become like the five people we spend the most time with.
The people you are with most help you define yourself and their energy quickly becomes entangled with yours. So who are you with the most? In a 24 hour period, how much time do you spend with people – and who are they?
Once you’ve thought of these people, ask yourself this: What are their ambitions? How do you feel when you’re around them? How enthusiastic and happy about life do they seem? Are they going to help you get to the next level? Do they encourage and support you? Do they help you stretch and push yourself? Or do they pour cold water on your ideas? Are they people you want to be like?
A lot of people in your life that you think are there to build you up might actually be tearing you down. They may act like they are building you up but behind your back they’re talking smack about you, they don’t want you to succeed.
Why? Because they are afraid that if you succeed, they will become less of a person. They are insecure about their own self worth and value and THEIR insecurities may be holding you back from YOUR fullest potential.
Just because someone doesn’t harmonize with your life right now doesn’t mean you have to disown them completely, but you should seriously consider lessening the time you are with them.
Start being with people that build you up, compliment you, think about you and truly want the best for you in life.
#4 You Have To Make Your Passion Your Purpose
If everyone did this, the whole entire world would CHANGE.
If people actually pursued their passion and did what they really loved to do in life…. there would be no poverty. There would be no depression.
People ask me all the time, “Drew, why are you so happy? What are you doing differently than me?”
Here’s the answer: I’m doing THIS. I’m putting myself out there and helping other people become the best versions of who they are. I’m spending my days figuring out ways to empower people to live their dreams. This is what fuels me!
I know that somewhere deep down you are longing to spread your wings and live in your passion zone.
You will absolutely, radically change your life when you start to pursue what you’re passionate about. I promise!
I hope you find these steps helpful. Because you are reading this blog, I know you’re trying to build a better life for yourself and the world around you, which is incredible.
Change your thinking.
Get clear on who you want in your life.
And make your passion your purpose.
I can’t wait to hear the adventures you have.
Always remember, we’re in this together!
