  1. Memorize something everyday.

Not only will this leave your brain sharp and your memory functioning, you will also have a huge library of quotes to bust out at any moment. Poetry, sayings and philosophies are your best options.

  2. Constantly try to reduce your attachment to possessions.

Those who are heavy-set with material desires will have a lot of trouble when their things are taken away from them or lost. Possessions do end up owning you, not the other way around. Become a person of minimal needs and you will be much more content.

  3. Develop an endless curiosity about this world.

Become an explorer and view the world as your jungle. Stop and observe all of the little things as completely unique events. Try new things. Get out of your comfort zone and try to experience as many different environments and sensations as possible. This world has so much to offer, so why not take advantage of it?

  4. Remember people’s names

so that they feel appreciated and for your own future benefit when you want something from that person. To do this, say their name back to them when they introduce themselves. Then repeat the name in your head a number of times until you are sure you have it. Continue to use their name in conversation as much as possible to remove any chance of forgetting it. If you’re still having trouble, make up a rhyme about their name: “Dan the Man” or “Natalie flatters me.”

  5. Get fit!

It’s ridiculous to think that we have one body, one sole means of functioning, and people are too lazy to take care of themselves. Fit bodies lead to better health, confidence and more success with romantic endeavors. I’d say those are 3 very good reasons to get in shape.

  6. Learn to focus only on the present.

The past is unchangeable so it is futile to reflect on it unless you are making sure you do not repeat past mistakes. The future is but a result of your actions today. So learn from the past to do better in the present so that you can succeed in the future.

  7. Even more specifically, live in THIS moment.

Even 10 minutes ago is the past. If you live purely in this moment you will always be happy because there is nothing wrong in this split-second.

  8. Smile more often.

Whenever you get a grin on your face, your brain is releasing serotonin, the happy hormone. Smiling is the natural way to force yourself to be happy. Many people even smile for five minutes straight in the morning to get themselves in a great mood for the day. It is a very powerful tool that is utilized less and less as we grow older and need happiness more than ever. Just remember that while happiness leads to smiles, smiles also lead to happiness.

  9. Drink water.

Hydration is tremendously important for overall health. Soda has absolutely ZERO nutritional content; it’s like pouring a punch of sugar and syrup into your cup. Instead, fill it with life-replenishing water. It may taste plain at first if you’re coming off of a heavy soda-drinking streak, but you’ll soon find yourself addicted to it. 10 glasses per day is optimal, how many have you been getting lately?

  10. Don’t take life so seriously!

Learn to laugh at the little things and this whole “existence” thing will be a whole lot easier. Be amused by your mistakes and failures and be thankful that you learned your lesson and won’t mess up like that again. And most importantly do things that you enjoy! Life is not strictly business, it can be mixed with pleasure.

  11. Think positive thoughts.

When you find yourself thinking a negative thought, stop it immediately by any means necessary. Slap yourself in the face, yell something positive at the top of your lungs or jump up and down. Do whatever it takes to get back to a positive mindset as such is essential for continual happiness and success.

  12. Read books.

Knowledge is power. If you’re looking for some mind-blowing books to read, check out 8 Books That Will Violent Shift Your Perspective’.

  13. Get in the sun.

Superman was completely re-energized when he flew out to space and soaked in some rays and you can do the same right outside your front door (if you live in a constantly dreary place, my apologies). The sun feels amazing: your entire body will be coursing with warmth and life.

  14. Help others.

I’ll just give you a plethora of reasons why this is a MUST

    • Helping people has a ripple effect. If you help someone they will feel more obliged to help someone else, and so on. Pay it forward
    • You grow by giving and helping others. It can change you in ways you never expected
    • Your relationship with that person will become stronger
    • It’s the most fulfilling thing you can do on this planet. It not only feels amazing physically, you also feel like a good person
    • You might be able to call in a favor later when you need some help
    • Karma (if you believe in it)
    • Because there are more people in this world than just you
  15. Set aside a specific time to worry each day.

Ponder all of your problems and anxieties during that time so that they will not distract you during work or moments of pleasure. This way you can be extremely efficient with your time and avoid focusing on negative things as much as possible. If you get all of your worry out of the way and have the mental fortitude to keep from reverting back to them, you will be much happier on the daily.

  16. Be honest at all times.

Lies lead to nothing but trouble. Being known as trustworthy is an excellent trait to maintain and essential to having integrity.

  17. Sleep less.

Fully adjusting to a new sleep cycle can take up to 21 days so don’t give up if you feel tired after switching to 5-hour nights. The “required” 8 hour/night is for normal people. If you’re reading THIS article on THIS site, you are not normal. So figure out how much sleep YOU really need and adjust accordingly. As enjoyable as sleep is, waking existence is much more fulfilling and efficient. IF this really sparks your interest, check out alternate sleep cycles with which you can be fine off of 2 hours of sleep per day.

  18. Read “Bringers of Light” and “Conversations with God” by Neale Donald Walsch.

These books will help you decide what you want to do in this life and how to get to that point. They will also profoundly change the way you look at the purpose of existence. Read them!

  19. Figure out what your goals and dreams are.

So many people wander aimlessly through life simply go for whatever small thing they want moment by moment. Instead, decide what your perfect life consists of and begin to put the steps in motion to reach that place. The most satisfying thing in the world (yes, better than sex, much better) is overcoming a challenge and reaching a goal. We are the happiest when we are growing and working towards something better.

  20. Start your day off right.

Wake up and set aside an hour for personal development activities (meditation, self-introspection, observing nature, etc.) Do the things that make you feel blissful, optimistic and empowered so that you can set a positive tone for your day. I guarantee that once you start doing this, your days will be more enjoyable and fulfilling. Today is going to be the best day of your life.

  21. Utilize ‘The Burning Method.’

Whenever a fear or worry or complaint comes to mind, close your eyes and imagine writing down the thought on a piece of paper. Then proceed to light the paper and fire and watch it disintegrate. Even better, actually write it down and burn it. You won’t have any problem ridding your mind of the thought after doing this.

  22. Travel.

Anyone who has ever gone anywhere will tell you that traveling is one of the most exciting and life-changing activities that you can do. Observing a different culture will expand your mind while making you further appreciate the life you already live. This goes back to becoming an explorer: this world is your jungle so go explore! Who knows, maybe you’ll find a place you love so much that you decide to move. Imagine the positive repercussions a new environment could have on your life.

  23. The Rubber Band Method

This is the third and final way to rid yourself of negative thoughts (hopefully by now you have figured out that this is very important!). Place a rubber band around your wrist and snap it against your skin anytime a negative thought finds its way into your head. This operant conditioning technique associates a slight pain with negative thoughts like Pavlov associated food/salivation with the sound of a bell. Sounds a bit cruel at first but it only stings for a second, I promise. Plus the outcome, having only positive thoughts, far outweighs a little slap on the wrist here and there.

  24. Learn to be unaffected by the words of others.

Most people get very upset when they are called negative names by others, but there is a simple trick to overcoming this. Here it is: If I went up to you and called you a fire hydrant, would you be upset? Of course not. Obviously you are not a fire hydrant, you are a human being. The same concept applies to when someone calls you something that you know you are not. They are foolish for saying such things, so why would you react with such anger? The only exception is when someone calls you something that is true! In this case, you should thank them for alerting you to a weakness, one that you can now work on changing.

  25. Read “Zen and the Art of Happiness” by Chris Prentiss.

This book will give you the knowledge and instruction to be happy at all times regardless of the circumstances. Yes, this sounds like an oversimplification of happiness, but I assure you that this book will change you in an amazing way.

  26. Develop the ability to forgive.

Forgiveness is something that most people fail miserably at even thought it’s so simple. Grudges only bring more misery to those who hold them and prevent good relations with the target. YOU makes mistakes all of the time so why not have mercy when other do? Remaining angry feels horrible while forgiving someone brings a refreshing sensation to the mind and healing to the relationship.

  27. Be the person that makes others feel special.

Be known for your kindness and sympathy.

  28. Learn to lucid dream

or to realize when you are dreaming so that you can control your dreams. Sleep feels good, but it’s rather boring and unproductive. With lucid dreaming under your belt, night-time can be even more exciting than when you are awake. You can do anything: fly, travel to other planets, party with a celebrity, get intimate with your dream boy/girl, etc. Many lucid dreams have also reported being able to speak directly with the subconscious during dreams by demanding to be taken to it after becoming lucid. For those that know a thing or two about your subconscious, that is a BIG deal.

  29. Visualize daily.

It has been said and proven time and time again that what you focus on is what you get. If you complain all of the time, you will run into more of the things you complain about. The same goes for good things like health, wealth and happiness. So spend some time in the morning imagining yourself achieving whatever it is that you currently desire. Focus is key in this exercise, so choose a quiet environment where you won’t be disturbed. If you’re having trouble focusing and continually find that your mind has wandered to something else, read about meditation in the following life tip. There is a lot more to this concept, so check out the full article on visualization and the law of attraction here.

  30. Meditate everyday for at least 20 minutes.

In this modern world where everyone is so connected to everything else via cell phones, TV and internet, most people rarely enjoy the beauty of silence. The ability to quiet your mind and relax your body is an art and skill that everyone should develop. Simply sit somewhere, preferably in nature, and focus on your breathing or try to think about nothing. This is going to be extremely hard at first! You might find it boring or just plain impossible to think of nothing, but you will get better and you will learn to love it. Post-meditation, you will feel extremely clear-headed and.. well, just plain wonderful. The only way to really understand this sensation is to try it.

  31. Learn to control your mind.

What kind of skilled human are you if you cannot even control your own thoughts? While the human mind is described as being a stream of consciousness, that does not mean you can’t decide where your stream flows. Techniques like meditation and the 3 ways to flush out negative thoughts will aid you immensely in learning to control your mind.

  32. Learn to control your emotions.

The only person that can make you unhappy is you! You are the one that decides to be affected by the words and actions of others. Realize this so that the next time you experience a negative emotion, you can find the strength within yourself to overcome it.

  33. Take a class in speed reading.

Books are full of information that can enhance your knowledge-base, vocabulary and yourself as a person. Speed reading is an easy way to get at this info faster so that you can have more time for other endeavors.

  34. Relax!

This one is for you workaholics out there (myself included). Yes, work is very important and productive but you need to take some time to chill out everyday or you are going to burn out faster than a candle with no oxygen. Additionally, you need to reward yourself for a job well done. What’s the use of doing all of that work if you can’t have a little fun from time to time anyways?

  35. Work on making good first impressions.

Practice a strong, firm handshake and the small talk that generally goes along with meeting someone for the first time. People won’t know what to think of you if you have nothing more to say beyond “My name is _______, nice to meet you.” Also make sure you remember names, as mentioned previously. Who knows, you may be going into business with or marrying this person you’re meeting for the first time if you make a good impression. Be sure and make an excellent one.

  36. Learn to use your eyes to their full potential:

    •  Make constant eye contact when in conversation. Looking away (especially down) is a sign of inferiority and uncertainty. Instead, look at your conversation partner dead in the eyes and keep them locked on
    •  Master the piercing stare. You know when someone looks at you and it feels like they can see into your soul? Well that’s not a hereditary characteristic, it just takes practice. Work on sharpening your gaze in the mirror. You’ll know you have it when it’s intimidating to continue looking at yourself
    •  Master the one-eyebrow raise. This one isn’t necessary by any means, but hey, why not? Pick a brow to learn with and go look in a mirror. Raise both of your eyebrows but use your hand to hold down the brow that you want to stay down. This will probably feel very stupid at first but if you keep trying, you will eventually pin down the muscle you need to flex to get that one brow up
  37. Be mysterious.

Don’t let off everything about you and definitely leave out some major details. There is something both alluring and mesmerizing about someone who no one knows fully about. I’m not saying to confide in no one or to alienate yourself. Just think James Bond.

  38. Come up with a life mantra.

You know, like “Carpe Diem” or “Live life to the fullest,” but not as cliché. Make it something that really hits home with you so that you will actually stick to it. Make sure it’ not so specific that it rarely applies but also not so general that it’s not personal.

  39. Get good at something.

Call it a hobby or a passion, whatever it is, just get damn good at it. Your occupation does not count! Make it something that you can practice often enough to excel at. Examples: Magic tricks, surfing, ping-pong, creating short films, and unicycling. It can be anything but I would recommend choosing something that: 1) You are passionate about 2) You can bust out at any moment to display your skills for any discerning crowd. My mind goes immediately to aerobatics and break dancing, but that’s just me.

  40. Work out those abs.

Above any other muscle group in the entire body, the abs are the most important. They constitute your core, the center point of your body. Your ability to balance comes almost completely from the strength of your abdominal muscles and balance is vital to performance in any physical activity. Summary: they’re very important. For more info on how to work out your abs, check out this video.

  41. Keep your brain sharp.

The majority of people are stuck in ruts. They go to the same job everyday, hang out with the same friends and eat at the same places. While that may feel safe, it’s not the most stimulating lifestyle for your brain. Those synapses have been built up enough, so try something that you do NOT know how to do! Buy a model car kit, master the art of sudoku or crosswords, or go pick up another major at your nearest college. The point is you need to be learning new things to keep your brain honest. Form new synapses by forcing your mind to work in ways it has not worked before. Just like physical workouts, doing too much of the same exercise will eventually give no results. Switch it up!

  42. Read something inspirational right before bed and after waking.

This will set get you in a great mood for sleep and for the day. Read anything from a famous speech to your favorite self-improvement book. Try to read something that get’s you really excited in the morning especially so that you’ll leave your house beaming with energy and wonder.

  43. Do what you love.

There is a huge difference between making a life and making a living; which one are you making right now? So many spend their entire lives trying to make as much money as possible so that they can afford to do what they really want later. It makes no sense to settle in life until you’re 65 so that you can retire and do what you want when you’re already WAY past your prime. We only live life once so why wouldn’t you want to spend it pursuing your bliss? To do anything else would be a tragic waste of the freedom you are allowed if you are reading this right now. Follow your bliss and you will be a thousand times more happy than your retirement date and 40+ years younger. But first you need to figure out what you love to do…

  44. Choose your friends wisely.

You are affected far more than you think by the people you spend your time with. Do your friends share your values? Do they encourage you when you speak of your goals and dreams or do they scoff? Make sure the people around you are conducive to the lifestyle you want to lead or you will find yourself being dragged again and again into behavior that distances you from your desires. Friends with a habit of producing negative thoughts will especially hinder you. This can be a hard task to follow through with if you realize you good friend is one of these saboteurs, but you must be firm! Don’t let anyone get in the way of you being all that you can be.

  45. Don’t burn bridges.

By that I mean maintain your relationships with people even if you think you are never going to see them again. For example, if you are quitting your job, don’t chew out your boss before leaving! You might run into him/her again later and life and wish you had never severed ties so harshly. You never know when you might need the help of someone you knew in the past. Plus there is already too much hatred in this world, why add more towards the people you interact with?

  46. Keep a journal/diary.

It sounds like a very monotonous habit at first, but when you get into it, that little book will become a great way to organize your thoughts and track your growth over the years. Most of us already stay awake in bed at night pondering the events of the day anyways so why not document those thoughts in an organized fashion? That will allow you to look back and observe how your way of thinking has changed over time.

  47. Read “New Pyscho-Cybernetics” by Dr. Maxwell Maltz.

This book will explain why the content of your thoughts has such a profound effect on your life through religious, philosophical and scientific arguments. A must read for completely understand who this life thing works.

  48. Learn to use and trust your subconscious/intuition.

When you spend time in silence everyday, listen not for words but for a feeling that tells you to do something. Do not mistake your own reasoning and thoughts for those of your subconscious. If you can track where the thought came from, (this thought led to that thought which led to this thought, etc.) then it was not from your subconscious. Learning to accurately discern between the two will allow you to tap into knowledge that you don’t consciously have.

  49. Develop a charismatic personality.

You know, the kind of personality that is surrounded by people constantly and is the life of the party. Start visualizing yourself as THAT person. Maybe take a short course on dynamic speaking and learn some jokes. Take the time to learn some party tricks and sleight of hand. Most importantly, believe that you already are charismatic even if you fail at being the center point of the next party. Lie to yourself constantly and tell yourself that you are more warm and gregarious than Ronald Regan. Belief is the first step! Reality will come soon after.

  50. Love is all there is.

If you truly want to be a master of life, let love be in your every action. Love your friends, family and enemies alike. This is the most difficult thing to do out of this entire list, which is why it is listed at #50. But if you accomplish this, you will be seen as a leader among everyone that allows hate, envy, disgust and all other negative emotions into their lives. Think Gandhi. Love is so rare in this world when compared to the massive presence of hate that by exuding love, you will immediately see yourself and the people around you change. Love. Love. Love.

Finding Your Hidden Superpower: 4 Step To Unlock Your Intuition

coaching banner

mindset

Written By Drew Canole

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.” ~ Albert Einstein

Intuition is difficult to define. It plays a massive role in our everyday lives, but it isn’t something most people discuss very often. Well-known and respected  individuals like Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs and Emma Stone have all talked about how highly they value their intuition, even above their general intellect. That is really saying something coming from Einstein, who is famous because of his genius mind!

Our brain is a valuable tool. But I want you to see that there is something much deeper and more infinite inside of you that can guide and direct you. It knows who you are on a very fundamental level. It knows your value beyond what you’ve achieved in this lifetime. It is called your intuition, your higher self, your inner knowing… and some may even call it God.

Here are a few things I have learned about tuning into that “inner voice.”

1)  Learn to Listen

Our intuition is a voice that can easily be tuned out if we’re not careful. Learning to listen can take practice. It includes tuning into your mind, soul and body. All three of which may have important clues to what your intuition is trying to tell you. This is why people often refer to making a choice based on a “gut feeling.”

hidden_superpower1

2) Practice Mindfulness

Stress, never ending busy schedules, burnout, media overload… all of these things can suffocate intuition if left unchecked. Take time to turn off or move away from external stimulation so that you can be still and quiet your mind.

Learn to enjoy spending time alone. This can be tricky especially with family, work and school obligations. Sometimes we don’t enjoy being with ourselves and our own thoughts and we try to distract ourselves with TV or social media. Even just taking 5 minutes to step out the front door and breath will make a difference. This will give you time to tune in to your inner self and hear what it has to say.

3) Make Your Own Decisions

Learn to trust yourself. Some people, when faced with decisions, go everywhere but to their inner guide for advice. There is nothing wrong with asking well-meaning people for advice, but if you are doing it for every decision instead of trusting your intuition you will never develop important independance and self-trust. You are you, after all. No one else knows you the way you do. No one else has the same life, decisions, feelings and destiny. When it all boils down, have the courage to listen to your own inner voice. It is through this voice that your guides will speak to you; be it God, your ancestors, your spirit animal, or whoever.

hidden_superpower2

4) Take Action and Be Spontaneous!

If water stands still it becomes stagnant. Sometimes the universe is just waiting for you to take a step forward so that it can create new opportunities or give you signs as to where you’re supposed to go.

One of the traits that is most endearing about children is their spontaneity. (At least when they do something spontaneous that we like!) Sometimes when raising children, we teach the spontaneity right out of them.

Alan Watts gives the example of a child who loves to dance. When they are young we could say they know nothing about real dancing and yet they dance freely and without reservation. Then we put them in dance classes and they learn structure and technique. They learn there are rules and that they can be judged on their performance. Thus, they start to become self-conscious. It then takes years of “practice” for them once again to float across the stage in confidence and gain back the spontaneity they started with in the beginning.

Don’t wait. The universe thrives on boldness and action.

When our intuition leads us down the “wrong road”

There will be times where you feel like you are living by your intuition and it takes you down the wrong path. Why would this happen? There are several possible reasons. It could be that:

  • You interpretation of your intuition may have been wrong
  • The path may seem undesirable at first but is actually better in the long run
  • You may have mistaken your fears to be your intuition
  • Your intuition may have wanted you to see the wrong path because it would strengthen your surety in the right one

Matthew and the Wrong Road

Matthew Holland, university president and religious leader, once told of an experience he’d had when he was young and exploring the Grand Canyon with his father.

While visiting his grandparents in St. George Utah, his father offered to take him to see the Colorado River. They loaded into the truck and eventually drove into the Grand Canyon. After a while of driving through dusty backroads and rarely-used paths, they arrived at a great overlook of the Grand Canyon and spent time throwing rocks over the edge and enjoying the marvelous view.

Near dusk they began the journey home. At one point Matthew’s father stopped the truck at a fork in the pathway. He couldn’t remember which way they’d come from. Not having much time before dark, they knew they needed to make a decision soon. Being a very spiritually minded family, they decided to pray together. During the entire prayer Matthew kept feeling the impression that they should take the left fork. He found out his father was feeling the same way.

hidden_superpower4

So off they went down the left fork. Not more than ten minutes had passed before they came to a sudden dead end. Matthew’s father turned the truck around, drove back to the fork, and went quickly down the other pathway. Before dark they were able to navigate the difficult pathways and back onto the main road.

The whole way back Matthew was troubled by the fact that he’d gotten the “wrong answer”. He brought this up to his father who said he had been thinking about the same thing. His father said:

“Because we were prompted to take the road to the left, we quickly discovered which one was the right one. When we turned around and got on the right road, I was able to travel along its many unfamiliar twists and turn offs perfectly confident I was headed in the right direction.

If we had started on the right road, we might have driven for 30 minutes or so, become uneasy with the unfamiliar surroundings and been tempted to turn back. If we had done that, we would have discovered the dead-end so late that it would have been too dark to find our way back in totally unfamiliar territory.”

When “wrong” may actually be “right”

Sometimes we will be guided down a wrong path, so that we can firmly and confidently recognize the right one. Otherwise, when difficult times come, we may doubt our decisions and become hesitant. Trust your inner guide.

hidden_superpower5

Albert Einstein once said, “The only real valuable thing is intuition.”

That left quite an impact on me. I hope today you make the resolve to turn to your inner voice more often until you develop a deep trust in yourself and the Universe as it leads you down paths you can now only dream of.

The Key To Your Dreams: The Pineal Gland

coaching banner

mindset

Written By Drew Canole

“It is health that is the real wealth, and not pieces of gold and silver.” – Mahatma Gandhi

pineal1

What is my pineal gland and why should I care?

Your pineal gland is a piece of your endocrine system that is tucked away near the center of your brain. It looks like a tiny pine cone and is about the size of a grain of rice. It regulates our circadian rhythm and releases the hormone, melatonin to help us sleep at night.

Pineal gland. Computer artwork of a sectioned human brain in side view, showing the pineal gland (highlighted). Front of the brain is at left. The pineal gland secretes the hormone melatonin which controls the body's biological clock. It is a small gland situated deep within the brain, just below the back of the corpus callosum. The pineal naturally secretes melatonin, mainly at night, which helps induce sleep and set the biological rhythm of the body. A high level of light seems to inhibit this hormone secretion. In middle age, the pineal secretes less melatonin and this may be responsible for aging symptoms. The pineal gland is sometimes the site of a cancerous tumour.

The pineal gland is also important spiritually and is often referred to as the ‘third eye’ – or our 6th chakra. René Descartes, a french philosopher famous for his phrase: “I think, therefore I am,” actually believed that the pineal gland was ‘the principal seat of the soul,’ or the place where our soul connects to our body.

Keeping our pineal gland healthy is very important spiritually and definitely something to understand if we aspire to become regular lucid dreamers. Just as this gland is known as the ‘third eye’ and a center of awakening during the daytime hours, it is also a key for waking up in our dreams.

Basic Tips For Taking Care Of Your Pineal Gland:

  • Cut out foods and toxins that calcify the pineal gland. These include fluoride, mercury, pesticides, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, tap water, etc.
  • Increased intake of the following has been shown to help clean and heal the pineal gland: raw chocolate, garlic, raw apple cider vinegar, distilled water, iodine, chaga mushroom, skate liver oil, etc.
  • Become aware of Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs) and how they affect your health.
  • Consider wearing sunglasses less often.
  • During meditation, chant the word love into your pineal gland.

For more on pineal gland detox, watch this video.

ßÜÞþWhy is fluoride so bad?

In short, fluoride accumulates to high levels in the pineal gland, causing calcification. Calcification occurs when there is a buildup of calcium in body tissues. Overtime, this buildup can harden and disrupt normal bodily functions. Although in body parts – such as bones and teeth – calcification is a positive thing, in the soft tissues of the body – such as glands and organs – calcification can cause some major problems.

How to avoid fluoride:

  • If your city puts fluoride in the water, get an alkalization system.
  • Drink pure spring water instead of tap water.
  • Put a filter on your main faucet.
  • Buy natural toothpaste that is free of fluoride.
  • Try not to use the tap water when brushing your teeth.

Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs)

You are an electrical being. Your nerves and circulatory systems conduct electricity. Your heart is able to beat because of electricity and pretty much every cell in your body communicates through the flow of  bio photons (light particles). We also have very beautiful and complex energy systems that include the chakras and meridians. Because of our electrical nature, our systems can be very sensitive to frequencies coming from electrical devices and Wi-fi.

When we are in a balanced, restful state, our cells have a slightly negative charge. This means there are more electrons than protons. When we are overexposed to electronics, our electron count goes down and we become positively charged. This is not a positive thing!

pineal4

At night, you should try to remove any and all electrical devices from surrounding your bed. Turn your phone to airplane mode and if possible, set it outside the room, or at least away from your head. Computers, laptops, iPads, the TV, etc… should all be off and away from where you sleep. Most people don’t realize that their body is affected by the frequencies of these devices. You will sleep more deeply and fully when your room is as EMF-free as possible. And obviously, better sleep means better dreaming!

Sunglasses… to wear or not to wear?

Many people suffer from insomnia or the inability to fall asleep easily. Our body clock and circadian rhythm is surprisingly dependant on light from the sun and energy from the earth. When we don’t get enough light or exposure to the sun, our inner clock can be thrown off track. No sleep means no lucid dreams! Too many hours at the office, leaving before the sun comes up, staying indoors until it is down, keeping our eyes behind car windows and sunglasses… all of these things can have many repercussions to our health and our ability to sleep and dream.

pineal5

According to Dr. Mercola, sunglasses aren’t always a bad thing, but should be used extremely sparingly. He personally only uses them when he is boating or skiing for extended amounts of time, where the water/snow greatly magnifies the sun into his eyes.

There are over 1,500 beneficial wavelengths of light that we need to nourish our eyes. Spend some time in the sunlight, without your sungalsses!

Best Foods to Eat For Lucid Dreamers

Our health can be either an advantage or disadvantage when it comes to lucid dreaming. Although no food is going to suddenly send you into dreamland, eating some of these foods that are rich in B-Vitamins and tryptophan can definitely help increase your memory of dreams as well as enhance the actual vividness of your dreams.

In a double-blind study done in 2002 by the City College of New York, they measured what effect taking pyridoxine (B6) before bedtime would have on the dreams of the participants. The belief was that taking B6 helped to increase the vividness of and ability to recall dreams. Participants taking the B6 reported a significant increase in dream vividness, emotionality and color.

Tryptophan converts to serotonin (known as the “happy hormone” – 95% of which is stored in your gut), which helps with relaxation and sleep. It is also believed to help with remembering dreams.

pineal6

Here are some foods to incorporate in your diet that are either rich in the above nutrients, or are known to help with sleep/dream enhancement:

  • Chicken, turkey, venison, lamb
  • Salmon, halibut, shrimp, cod
  • Kidney beans
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Passion Flower and chamomile tea
  • Whole fruits and vegetables in abundance!
  • Sea Vegetables like Spirulina and Algae

Becoming aware of your body and its many parts is a powerful step in reaching your highest potential.

We would love to hear your thoughts, questions or comments. Please feel free to share them below!

Astral Projection

mindset

Written By Drew Canole

“You are not a human being with a soul, you are a soul that temporarily inhibits a human body.” – Jordan Pierce from The Spirit Science

Astral projection, also known as Out of Body Experience (OBE) or Remote Viewing, can be a very fun thing to do when you are lucid. We actually all experience OBE when we dream but simply don’t remember doing it. Having an OBE lucidly can be a bit challenging, but don’t give up! It will come when you are ready.

astral_projection1

Astral projection is essentially the act of separating your ‘astral’ body from your physical body. Astral simply refers to the human consciousness. When this occurs, you are able to travel independently of your physical body. This doesn’t mean that we are completely cut off or separate from our body, in fact, many people experiencing an OBE can see a tangible chord that connects their astral body to their physical being.

So…how do you do it?

There are a plethora of videos and tutorials out there with different methods and techniques. We could probably write another mini book dedicated entirely to the art of astral projection. What works for you might not work for someone else. You may have to experiment with different techniques to see what works best for you.

astral_projection2

A basic step-by-step:

1.Lay down somewhere comfortable where you will be uninterrupted.

2. Completely relax your body and close your eyes.

3. Don’t move…! Ignore any urges to move.

4. Focus intently on a single thing, such as your heartbeat or breathing.

5. Don’t move. We want to trick your body into thinking you’re dreaming so it will put you in sleep paralysis.

6. When you feel yourself start drifting or you begin to see lights or feel strange sensations, it should be time to try and separate.

7. Attempt separation. This is different than dreaming or imagining yourself leaving your body. You actually want to focus on physically moving your body without use of your muscles.

astral_projection3

8. A few different techniques you can use if this doesn’t work: focus on thoughts and images coming up in your mind. Imagine pictures rotating in your head. Focus on moving one part of the body without muscles. Increase the movement to be bigger and wider. Try again to separate completely.

9. If it works, you should be able to come completely out of your body. If you turn around, you will see yourself lying on the bed. Now you can go anywhere you want.

Again, astral projection is an advanced concept and may take some time to experience. Be patient with yourself. Focus on lucid dreaming, chakra balancing, meditation and maintaining a  healthy lifestyle so that you can become as in-tune with yourself as possible.

Some people have found success when trying astral projection in the morning when they have just barely woken up and are still relaxed. Remember, intention is everything. Set your mind to it.

So why bother with astral projection?

This is where you can fly! It is believed that when you have an OBE, you actually enter the fourth dimension. Here, all the senses are magnified and you are not bound by gravity.

astral_projection4

You come to realize that you are more than just a body. This is a powerful realization. In our world, a lot of people are completely preoccupied with their bodies. We tend to over-obsess about physical appearance and staying young. With the awareness that our consciousness exists, regardless of a physical body, we become not so caught up in the illusions that the media places on appearance. In an astral projection, you can look back and see your body resting peacefully on your bed and it becomes more of a home for when you’re awake than a definer of your identity.

You can come to peace with death. When you experience astral projection and realize that your consciousness exists no matter what, death becomes a lot less frightening. You realize that leaving the body is just like walking through a door or floating through a window into another dimension.

You can raise your frequency/consciousness. In this world that is free of typical distractions you can focus reflection, exploring your inner universe, traveling and raising your levels of awareness.

It can be really, really fun. Need I say more?

Swann Jupiter Probe 1973

There was a cool story about a man who was able to visit space using Astral Projection.

Ingo Swann was part of a study on the the phenomenon known as ‘remote viewing’ (astral projection) at Stanford Research Institute in 1973. The goal of the study? To see if someone could astral project themselves and see things clearly that were very, very far away.

astral_projection5

The very very far away location? Jupiter. That same year Pioneer 10 Spacecraft was out in space, on its way to be the first spacecraft to fly directly through the asteroid belt and get close to the planet jupiter. The probe would be able to prove/disprove Ingo’s out-of-body experience.

Ingo was successfully able to project his consciousness to Jupiter in a matter of minutes. He spent about half an hour describing and sketching out what he saw. He was able to see a ring around the planet that scientists didn’t even know existed, which was later found and confirmed by Pioneer 10. He also saw Jupiter’s moons, mountain ranges, rolling sand and a glittery effect caused by ‘crystals’.

“Very high in the atmosphere there are crystals… they glitter. Maybe the stripes are like bands of crystals, maybe like rings of Saturn, though not far out like that… Now I’ll go down through. It feels really good there (laughs)….Inside those cloud layers, those crystal layers, they look beautiful from the outside. From the inside they look like rolling gas clouds – eerie yellow light, rainbows.” -Swann

“Coming within 278,000 km of the swirling Jovian cloud tops, the robot survived intense radiation, peered deep into the planet’s storm-tossed cloud cover, provided startling views of the larger Jovian moons – and, most surprising of all, revealed the presence of a thin, flat ring around the great planet. Said University of Arizona Astronomer Bradford Smith: ‘We’re standing here with our mouths open, reluctant to tear ourselves away’.” -Time

Kind of exciting when superhuman stuff is backed up by science. :) To see the full dialogue of Swann and comparisons between what he saw with what was found by spacecrafts, check it out here.

Are YOU A Lucid Dreamer?

coaching banner

mindset

“Let your dreams change your reality, don’t let your reality change your dreams.” – Jordan Rose

Lucid_dreamer

What is Lucid Dreaming?

Lucid dreaming is the process that people have used for thousands of years to wake up during their dream and see it as a dream. Once the dreamer is in this state, it becomes like a video game or a movie in which they are the actor, director, engineer and the space all at once.

In a lucid dream, you become fully conscious that you are dreaming and from this ability you are able to change your surroundings, the people, places, events and circumstances of your dream.

Lucid_dreamer1

Lucid dreams are very vivid and feel like they are real, sometimes they are more real than reality itself. Many people question lucid dreaming saying it is not a state of sleep, but a state of actual wakefulness.

Why Lucid Dream?

“Listen to your dreams. Dreams illuminate the night and the dreamer.” – Unknown

When you think of your dreams, what are they like? Are you generally in control, confident and the one calling the shots?

Or are you just wandering through a mystical and unknown space, reacting to the things going on around you, seemingly out of your control? Are you the victim? Are you often stressed in your dreams? Unable to find something? Someone?

Lucid_dreamer2

Maybe you just dream about your everyday circumstances. One of my friends dreams so vividly about his work life that sometimes he wakes up and is confused about what actually happened and what didn’t.

Now lets think about your waking life. What is it like? Using the same criteria as above… think about your day to day existence. Though the scenarios and happenstances during your waking hours may be different than what you see in your dreams, are a lot of the emotions similar?

If you are confident and powerful during the day, do you feel the same way while you’re asleep? On the flip side, do you live with a lot of anxiety, pain, stress worry… and do those feelings carry over into your dreams?

What if changing your reality in a dream could actually teach you to change your life?

Lucid dreaming gives you the opportunity to become the author of your own dreams, or at least able to manipulate them as you desire. It is an incredible feeling – realizing that you have control. That you’re not just a pawn in a random scenario created by your subconscious. Even more powerful is experiencing these ‘lucid’ moments in your real waking life.

It can be a game-changer to ‘wake up’ and realize that you have a say in how your life turns out.

Lucid_dreamer3

The Seven Steps Of Lucid Dreaming

So where to start? Have you ever had a lucid dream before? Over the course of many lucid experiences, I’ve learned there are are a set of conditions that must be met to know when one is in fact lucid or just dreaming.

These 7 steps were outlined by Paul Tholey in 1980.

The first step is to have clarity that you are in fact dreaming.

The second step is to realize you have the ability to change the dream at will. If you don’t like where you are, you can rotate the room or start flying into space (I highly encourage you do this, who needs Space X). You control the dream.

Lucid_dreamer4

The third step is getting the dream to appear as clear as the day is. Sometimes my lucid dreams have been even more real.

The fourth step is knowing who you are in the dream. It’s impossible to go lucid when you are on drugs – alcohol affects dream space as well in my experience, one of the reasons I gave up drinking a while ago.

The fifth step is you will be able to attach meaning to the dream, just like regular dreams. Every dream has a meaning.

The sixth step is you are aware you are in bed or sleeping somewhere.

Have you tried lucid dreaming? What was your experience like? Comment below. I’d love to hear about it!

Lucid dreamer5

The seventh step is you are aware of the amount of effort you are putting into the dream. Sometimes it takes large doses of concentration. It will really require you to grow as a person.

So, after reading these steps – have you had a lucid dream? :) Most likely you have as most people do at least once in their lives.

Lucid dreaming is not a woo woo science or meant for only a select few. It is a real tool that has been around for thousands of years. Inventors, prophets, poets and some of the most creative people that ever lived were able to harness the power of their dreams.

When I became a lucid dreamer I realized that my life didn’t get paused at night . Although sleep was still a time of rest and rejuvenation,  it also became a safe ground for conscious processing, creativity, inspiration, discovery, healing, and preparation.

Stay tuned to learn more about lucid dreaming and why it should become a part of your life.

Flow Into Mystery And Create Your Life

coaching banner

mindset

Written By Greg Ashby

What does it take to live in the Mystery?

What is the Mystery? Does it mean to live with no assurances? To live in the gray? No black or white? No control

Control…  What do we actually control?

We can only control our thinking, our thoughts. Our mind.

Oftentimes, we daydream, we drift off.

Are you wasting your time and living your life by just daydreaming? Remaining motionless? Going nowhere? Simply floating?

What if you could daydream with a purpose?

What if you could build yourself with the whims of your own mind, directing your thoughts and dreams into action?

Could you manifest your own best self? Release your own truth?

Every day you have choices to make in your life and ultimately, it’s up to you to decide the path that will work best with where you are in this moment in time.

Consider this: would you rather be happy or right?

It is the difference between the bliss beneath an apple tree or the chaos within a crowd. But YOU get to decide.

In a world where time is relative and opinion is diverse, one can only truly survive – truly live – when his own opinion is taken to heart and not forced upon those surrounding him.

To live in the mystery is choosing to be happy in the face of uncertainty.

Uncertainty is like going with the flow from opinion to opinion. Uncertainty is like swimming upstream, going nowhere.

To be truly in the flow means that YOU direct your flow.

You catch your own wave, take your own chance. When you are caught in a current, you are told to head towards the land, swimming parallel to the shore and little by little, you will eventually make it back to the shore.

This is done with action, with willpower, with intention.

With intention, you can direct your flow and therefore your life.

To go into the Mystery is surrendering your need to control everything around you.

How can YOU surrender control and still direct your flow?

‘Ask’ for what you want. ‘Feel’ what it is like to have your desired outcome already.

Release it to the Universe. Use ‘I AM’ statements in your manifesting… ‘I AM abundant…,’ ‘I AM in a passionate, loving, honest and fulfilling relationship…’ and so forth.

Directing your desire and then surrendering it to the Universe takes trust, belief and acceptance in yourself. Remember, YOU have the power to cultivate positive or negative change – including your thought patterns.

‘Accept’ that you are deserving and worthy of receiving goodness and light into your life now – not later, not when you think you’ll be “better” – but right now.

Then grant yourself permission to ‘receive’ and be fully open to receiving your heart’s desire. And then bless it, which will then open you to receive more. And so the cycle continues.

The final step is to not get tied up in the outcome.

Circumstances come up in the process of growth and that’s okay! Use these as lessons to help grow you, shape you and drive you to be better and continue learning.

You deserve goodness. You deserve greatness.

You deserve to live the life you’ve always imagined.

The best part is that you CAN! You have everything you need within you already. It’s about realizing this truth, believing this truth and sharing your gifts with the world to create more greatness.

To live in this Mystery we call life is to  put your intention into the Universe, let it go and detach yourself from the outcome.

To be present in the Mystery, you must know who you are.

The question is, how many of us know who we truly are?

You might know your body and mind. And you may even be in touch with your spirit, your soul. But there is more to you than that so dig in! Because you are beautiful.

“The soul is. It has no beginning and no end but flows toward wholeness… The personality emerges as a natural force from the soul. It is an energy tool that the soul adapts to function within the physical world. Each personality is unique because the configuration of the energy of the soul that formed it is unique.” – from The Seat of Soul

It is your persona of the soul, so to speak, that interacts with physical matter.

Persona is where we get the word personality. In Greek, persona means masks.

Personality is the masks we wear.

We all wear different masks.

We have different masks or personalities for work, friends and home. But sometimes, we can have so many masks, that we lose our true authentic self and lose our connection to the soul and, therefore, we step out of the flow and disconnect from the source.

Have you fragmented yourself so much that you have lost your way back to your soul?

Discover who you are. Don’t hold back. Trust in the Universe and learn to become comfortable speaking your truth, always from a place of love, acceptance and compassion.

Just breathe, believe and know you are whole. You are whole. You. Are. Whole.

Change Your Life Through Lucid Dreaming – 4 Steps To Get You Started

“All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.”

– Edgar Allan Poe

Lucid Dreaming

Lucid dreaming is truly an ancient art form that many people today are working on becoming effective at. It’s a performance, cognitive, growth-hack unlike anything else.

It can open you up spiritually, mentally, emotionally and add depth to your relationships.

In a lucid dream, you become fully conscious that you are dreaming. From this ability, you are able to change your surroundings, the people, places, events and circumstances of your dream.

Have you ever wanted to become a lucid dreamer?

The following steps will help you break away from the disorganized dreams that are hard to understand and interpret. Lucid dreaming is not as easy as counting or learning to read but once you have it, you will use it your whole life.

#1 Dream recall

Most newbie lucid dreamers know that the first step in wanting to control your dreams is to write in a journal before getting out of bed. Write down what you remember in your dreams. When you force yourself to remember every element in your dream, it sends a strong signal to your brain and tells it that you are serious about taking it to the next level.

New Picture
In the journal ask yourself :

What did I see?

What did I hear?

What were the people doing?

Where was I?

How did I feel?

The more specific you can get with these questions, the easier it will be to access your dreams. The more you remember the unique elements of your dreams the next time you go back into that level or world you will remember you had just written about it.

New Picture (1)
#2 Making it intentional

Like in life, intention is everything. When I go to bed, I always say to myself that I’m going to have a lucid dream. When you set an intention before you go to bed it is a lot easier. You may have a lucid dream or you may have one in a month, but make sure you set the intention.

This is a great practice to do in life as well. Before I do anything, I set an intention and it has paid off big time over the years. Once you start lucid dreaming and intending for things to happen in your dream, you will see how much concentration it takes. Similarly, you will use that same level of concentration in your real life to start to manifest your deepest desires.

New Picture (2)
#3 Question Reality

During the day it is important to ask yourself if you are dreaming. Your mind may resist you when you first start to do this. You may instantly think, duh… of course I’m not dreaming. This is real. Don’t go down that road though. Instead, give your mind a minute or two to analyze where you are, what you have on and your surroundings, notice the finite detail in everything.

The more reality checks you can perform throughout the day, the easier it will be to go into a lucid state during the night. Your brain will automatically think to ask the question when you are sleeping.

#4 Reality Checks

A reality check has to be something that cannot apply to both reality and the dream world. For example, a good reality check would be pushing two fingers up against the palm of your hand and willing them to go through. In a dream you could push them all the way through your hand, in reality you could not.

Remember the movie Inception, where the main character spins a top to determine reality? If it never falls he knows he’s in a dream. Something like this could potentially work as a reality check, but who remembers to carry a top in their pocket all the time?

New Picture (3)
For a reality check to be completely effective, you need to do it not only at night but during the day as well.

Some other ideas:

  • Holding your breath.
  • Pinching yourself
  • Floating above the ground
  • Making colors come out of your fingers
  • Checking the time (to see if it is regular or not)

Find what works for you.

New Picture (4)

#5 Try Different Methods

WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dream)

This is when you jump directly into a lucid dream from a state of full consciousness. Because you don’t fall asleep first, but instead go straight into dreaming, it is believed that this is when the most vivid and vibrant dreaming happens.

Relaxation – Your body must be fully relaxed. Typically, this type of inducement works best after you’ve already slept for several hours, or during an afternoon nap. If you try this as you are going to bed at night, you might just fall asleep instead of into a lucid dream.

Try setting your alarm for 4-6 hours after you go to bed. Get up for a short amount of time, read a book or your dream journal. Do NOT turn on electronics. After returning to bed (no longer than 40 minutes or so after waking) close your eyes. Focus on slowly relaxing your body. Start at your feet and slowly work your way up; imagine that your body is losing its weight.

Hypnagogia – Hypnagogia is the state between sleep and wakefulness. It happens when you start to drift off and may cause an array of colors/lights/images/sounds/sensations to appear. If you’re too excited or not relaxed, you won’t be able to fall into this state.

Let go of gravity. Let the sensations of hypnagogia envelope you. I like to imagine that my bed is tilting either to the side or forward/back. The sensations should be dreamily realistic. Another option is to imagine yourself floating off the bed, or moving at the speed of light.

Hold on to the knowledge, “I am dreaming.”

Enter the dream – At this point, the sensations and imagery from the hypnagogic state should be becoming more clear and vivid. Let yourself continue to float into them. Don’t do anything too crazy right at first until you feel you are fully in the dream. You can begin to visualize the dream you want, imagine music playing, or focus on movement. Everyone has something in particular that helps draw them into a lucid state. Practice and relaxation will help you find what works best for you.

Naptime Lucid Dreaming

This has been one of the most effective methods for me. I tend to have some of my most wild and vibrant dreams when I nap.

New Picture (6)
During the day when I am feeling sleepy, I do a reality check and then get in a comfortable position to take a nap (sometimes this simply means laying my head on the desk, haha). I then fall asleep while repeating the phrase, “I am lucid dreaming” over and over in my mind. Sometimes I will even begin to replay a dream I remember in my imagination. Most of the time, before I know it, I am actually asleep and in the dream instead of just imagining it and I find myself still “lucid”.

LILD (Letter Induced Lucid Dream)

This is a very effective tool to help you begin lucid dreaming. It works by picking a letter or symbol, preferably one that you’ve seen in dreams before. If you’re not sure what often comes up in your dreams, start keeping a dream journal.

During the day, whenever you see your symbol, make a habit of doing a reality check. Hopefully you will see it often enough that you are doing several reality checks during the day.

This becomes a great tool for when you are dreaming. When it comes up in your dreams, you will hopefully clue in and do a reality check out of habit, only to find that you are in a dream!

Why Lucid Dream?

New Picture (7)Lucid dreaming is not only something to do for fun, but can be a powerful method for growth, healing and connecting with your subconscious. Some of the benefits I have found from lucid dreaming include:

  • The chance to face my fears in a safe environment where I know I am in control.
  • An opportunity to build confidence by setting up experiences where I am successful in a dream.
  • An incredible place to boost creativity.
  • A place where I can connect with my subconscious mind and begin programming it to believe in my goals and ambitions.
  • A safe place to practice skills (science has proven that practicing skills ONLY IN OUR MIND will influence and improve our ability to perform physically!)
    • A space where I can explore potential life paths to help me make decisions in real life.
    • A space to heal from the past.
    • A space to overcome nightmares and even soothe the symptoms of PTSD.

Ready to give it a try? :) This list of benefits is just the tip of the iceberg. In your dream space, you can do all kinds of amazing things! I can’t wait to hear about your experiences.

Overcoming Nightmares Through Lucid Dreaming

By Jenna Barrington

Have you ever had a nightmare that kept coming back for several nights or even weeks? Or longer?

Have you had a nightmare as a result of something happening in your waking life?

Some people, for one reason or another, really struggle with nightmares. This may be because of past experiences, current stress in their waking life, or simply because of their vivid imagination. Whatever the cause, nightmares can be a real pain if they interrupt sleep or leave you feeling tired and unsettled when you wake up in the morning.

Luckily, there is an ancient technique you can use to pop out of your nightmares, or even face and overcome them. Some people discover this by accident when they are in the middle of a nightmare and realize that it isn’t real.

This is how Drew Canole discovered lucid dreaming. He was only five years old when he began experiencing terrifying nightmares that mirrored the difficulties he was experiencing in his waking life. After six months of nightmares, something amazing happened…

“One night before I went to bed, I asked myself if I was dreaming, and I pinched myself before lying down. So, I fell asleep quickly like I always do. Halfway through the night, the ugly monster—at least seven feet tall with horns coming out of its back, some real gnarly-looking teeth, and eyes that were a bright oozing green—was coming for me again.

This time was different, though. Something had changed inside of me.

I looked at the monster, and then I looked down at my hand and asked the question that every beginner lucid dreamer must ask: Is this real, or is this a dream? I pinched myself and feeling my skin change, I immediately knew that it was not real. In fact, I had entered one of the coolest worlds I would ever experience in my whole life.

What happened to the monster next would change my confidence outside this realm forever.

Without a second to spare, I began running after the monster. Instantly, I imagined a sword falling from the sky, and as I jumped at least 25 feet in the air, I called forth the power of the clouds to charge this sword with the fiercest lightning the world had ever seen.

It was me versus the monster that was responsible for stealing my personal power at night and that made me wake up even more miserable and hopeless in the morning.

Plunging back towards the earth as if I were a falcon with laser focus, I saw the ugly-ass monster and had no fear of beheading this nasty creature from the depths of hell.

I approached it, and when I was ten feet away, all of a sudden the dream changed. It was no longer a grown monster—it was a little baby.

My fear was gone. I no longer needed to attack this creature that was probably, deep inside, just as scared as I was, and I was able to let go and forgive all of the many nights we spent together.”

Not only was he able to conquer the monster in his nightmares, but because of his experience, he was able to challenge the monsters in his waking life as well.

“Siri, what is lucid dreaming?”

Lucid dreaming is the process that people have used for thousands of years to wake up during their dream and see it as a dream. Once the dreamer is in this state, it becomes like a video game or a movie in which they are the actor, director, engineers, and the space, all at once.

In a lucid dream, you become fully conscious that you are dreaming. You are then able to change your surroundings and the people, places, events, and circumstances of your dream.

Lucid dreams are very vivid and feel like they are real; sometimes they seem more real than reality itself. Many people question lucid dreaming by saying that it is not a state of sleep, but a state of actual wakefulness.

Have you had a lucid dream before? Some people do it all the time and don’t realize that it is anything special.

We believe that everyone has the ability to lucid dream. Some tap into it naturally, while others have to learn a few techniques first. Either way, lucid dreaming is a fantastic tool you can use for all sorts of things.

Why Lucid Dream?

Lucid dreaming is not a woo-woo science, nor is it meant for only a select few. It is a real tool that has been around for thousands of years. Inventors, prophets, poets, and some of the most creative people who ever lived were able to harness the power of their dreams.

dream_hacking4

You can use lucid dreams to…

  • Face and overcome your fears
  • Tap into your inner confidence
  • Boost creativity
  • Help you reach your goals
  • Practice new skills
  • Heal old wounds
  • Overcome victim mentality

Are you afraid of heights? Public speaking? Dogs? In a lucid dream, you are able to create and control the circumstances around you. You can actually use your dreams as a practice ground for real life. Since it feels pretty dang real, it is a perfect space to practice facing your fears.

The best thing about it is if you work on something in a dream, it will actually help you in real life. Whether you are thinking something or actually doing it, the same neural pathways are created in your brain. This means that if you dream about giving a speech in public, it will create a pathway in your brain for doing that action. The more you dream practice (or actually do it in real life), the stronger that connection will become. How cool is that! This is science, peeps!

The same applies to practicing new skills. Have you ever heard of mental rehearsal? This is a tool athletes, musicians, and performers use to boost their performance. Basically, they rehearse in their mind before doing it in real life. There are some really cool studies out there about how effective this is. Lucid Dreaming is like super-enhanced mental rehearsal!

Lucid Dream Lucid Life

One of the main benefits of lucid dreaming is that it pushes us to lucid living. Waking up in our dreams teaches us to wake up in our lives.

When you ‘wake up’ in a dream and see it as a dream, you are empowered to take control and make the dream into something you want it to be. You realize you aren’t just the victim anymore. Amazing things will begin happening at night while you sleep if you choose to keep having this experience. And once you discover this at night, you can’t help but start applying the same principles to your real life.

It’s pretty cool. :)
